July 20, 2007I have a K&N drop in in my stock air box and i hear the air sucking sound but not that loud.Does the 77 's metal intake tube louder than a plastic tube ? Did the new K&N 77 change your exhaust sound at all for better or worse ? I have the flowmaster series 40 delta flow and it sounds great, when i am cruising around 70 mph, it has a nice muscle car sound coming from the pipe tips. what else did you notice power wise when you changed to the 77 ?
July 21, 2007My brother has the K&N FIPK, which is the plastic version your talking about, and no thier about the same as far as sound goes. I noticed the engine revs a little faster because it can breath better, ultimatley making the exuast sound better. Off the line my truck is a little faster than it was, and it gets better MPG
September 16, 2007I will be adding the 77 series soon, WITH a keystone twin scoop Ram Air hood that dumps right over the airbox. I have the flowmaster delta 40 with 3 inch in & 2 1/2 dual out behind the tires at a 45 degree down angle. The intake and exhaust should sound NICE and thinking of adding a "high flow cat"
